Central America Coffees

Coffee from Central America — the classic cup

Ask a roaster to describe "coffee flavour" and they'll describe Central America: balanced, chocolatey, a touch of citrus. It's why beans from this part of the coffee belt sit at the heart of so many of our blends.

What's the difference between the Central American origins?

Mexican coffee — our Mega Mexican, from Finca Aurora — is nutty and smooth. Guatemalan brings cocoa. Honduran is round and dependable; it's the base of our 2.5kg Waitrose Unpacked beans. El Salvador, in our bean bags, is soft and honeyed.

Which Central American coffee should I choose?

If you want ground coffee ready to go, Mega Mexican or Breakfast Blend. Deliciously Dark is our darkest ground — an omni grind that suits cafetière, V60, AeroPress and filter, and works in a moka pot too. Got a pod machine? The Perfect Pods run on this region's beans. And for one-cup-at-a-time convenience, the bean bags.
