There are three main things to keep in mind when you buy fresh-roasted coffee beans online:

  1. Store correctly

You want to make sure to keep your coffee beans in a cool and dark place, ideally in an opaque, airtight container.

  1. Only grind what you’re planning to use

Grinding up the coffee beans to make a delicious brew very quickly reduces the amount of time that they’ll stay fresh. If you’re grinding your coffee by hand, make sure you’re only grinding as much as you need right away.

  1. Ensure you have an appropriate machine

Make sure your preferred coffee-making machine will work with fresh beans. If you have a cafetiere or a machine that doesn’t grind the beans for you, you’ll need to buy a separate grinder. If you prefer it all done at once, consider purchasing a bean-to-cup machine – some will even steam milk for you to have perfect lattes and cappuccinos every day!

How should I grind them?
Fine for espresso, medium for filter, coarser for a cafetière. Only grind what you're about to drink.
